How to install Resolume Wire patches in Resolume 7

Resolume Wire has two files types, uncompiled Wire patches (.wired) and compiled Wire patches (.cwired). Uncompiled Wire patches require a Wire license to run, but can be compiled to a . cwired file and run without a Wire license. Compiled Wire patches are just Resolume plugins and can be either a Source , Effect , or a Mixer and do not require a Wire license.

Resolume 7.9 and up

1. Drag and drop Wire patches (.wired) or compiled Wire patches (.cwired) onto Resolume and they will be copied to the correct folder and show up in the “Wire Effects” and “Wire Sources” category on the “Effects” and “Sources” panels, respectively.
   • .wired are located: C:\Users\<you>\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches
   • .cwired are located: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches

Resolume 7.7 to 7.8

If you’ve never used Wire, open it at least once so it creates the folders it needs.

1. Drop . wired files into: C:\Users\<you>\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches

   • When you open Res, the effects will be under “Wire Effects” at the top of your effects list.

2. Drop . cwired files into: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches

   • These will show up under “Wire Effects” on the Effects panel.

Resolume 7.4 to 7.6

If you’ve never used Wire, open it at least once so it creates the folders it needs.

1. Drop . wired files into: C:\Users\<you>\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches

   • When you open Res, the effects will be under “Wire Effects” at the top of your effects list.

2. Drop . cwired files into: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Resolume Wire\Patches

   • These will show up as regular plugins but must be placed in the folder above.

Resolume 7.3 and below

Does not run Wire. :(
